The Mehiläinen Health Care Agreement covers a wide range of examinations and services at a fixed monthly price, such as personal health coach appointments, general practitioner appointments, annual dental and health examinations and influenza vaccinations.
You can find health coaches at selected clinics, but with the agreement, you can use the services of any Mehiläinen medical centre and the OmaMehiläinen Digital Clinic around the clock.

You can buy a health care agreement for yourself or as a gift. The company can also buy the service as a gift for an employee - ask more about the Health Care Agreement from the advice service.
The agreement is made online or by calling the advice service of the Health Care Agreement. The agreement begins with a fixed agreement period of three months. After the initial fixed term, the agreement will continue for an indefinite period. The agreement becomes valid immediately or at a date specified by you.
When you sign a Mehiläinen Health Contract, you will be assigned your own personal health coach (occupational health or nurse). The agreement also includes an annual health check by your health coach and related laboratory tests.
When signing the agreement, you select your primary location where you will find your health coach in the future – both the location and the health coach can be changed during the agreement period.
The agreement includes general practitioner appointments and phone appointments, the most common minor procedures and consultations, as well as standard laboratory and other basic examinations in connection with general practitioner appointments. If necessary, you will also receive a driving licence certificate from your general practitioner.
You can also visit a general practitioner at OmaMehiläinen Digital Clinic free of charge, every day and around the clock.
In addition to the monthly fee, general practitioner appointments are subject to the current outpatient fee, which can be found in Mehiläinen’s price list. No discounts can be applied to the outpatient fee.
The health care agreement includes an annual dental check-up performed by a general dentist. Possible X-rays are not included in the price of the agreement - however, you will receive an X-ray examination of the entire jaw, i.e., a panorama scan, at the discount price of 65 € (normally 118 €) with a dentist’s referral.
The agreement includes an annual influenza vaccination. A high-dose influenza vaccine is available for people over the age of 60, which has been developed to provide better protection against influenza.
The agreement also includes booster doses of the tetanus vaccine, which are given every 10 or 20 years depending on age, and if necessary, for example, in the event of an accident.
As a health contract customer, you can easily renew the prescriptions prescribed to you at Mehiläinen free of charge in the OmaMehiläinen app.
Eye examinations and eye pressure measurements performed by opticians in Synsam stores are included in the Health Care Agreement.

Once you have made the Health Care Agreement, we will call you to schedule an introductory visit with a health coach.
Before meeting the health coach, it is advisable to fill out a form that helps assess your health status and life situation. You can complete the form directly on your computer or print it out and fill it in by hand. If you fill out the form on your computer, save it and bring it to the health coach's appointment electronically on your phone or tablet, or print the completed form to bring with you. In acute illness situations, you can visit a general practitioner's reception at any Mehiläinen location. You can book an appointment online, through the OmaMehiläinen app, or by calling customer service.
In acute situations, the doctors and nurses of the Digital Clinic in the OmaMehiläinen app are available to you free of charge around the clock, wherever you are.
The general practitioner will prescribe the necessary tests for you, most of which are included in the monthly service fee. The monthly fee covers laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, and breast examinations, as well as clinical physiology (e.g., ECG and PEF tests) and pathology (e.g., cytology or Pap tests).
Please note that tests are included in the monthly fee only with a referral from a general practitioner. Without a referral or if prescribed by a specialist, tests are subject to an additional fee. However, discounts are available for tests prescribed by a specialist.
Influenza and tetanus vaccines included in the Health Care Agreement's monthly fee can be administered, for example, during a health examination, or you can book a separate 15-minute appointment with a health coach online or by phone. The influenza vaccine should be taken annually. The tetanus vaccine is taken every 10–20 years, depending on the age of the person being vaccinated.
When you buy the Health Care Agreement as a gift, you pay the monthly fees for the service at the same time for the period you have chosen (3 months, 6 months or 12 months). The recipient of the gift must pay the outpatient fees incurred by appointments with the general practitioner.
The agreement expires at the end of the current invoicing period if the termination has been notified to Mehiläinen Oy by the last day of the current invoicing period at the latest.

You can change your personal doctor or health coach whenever you like. The services of personal doctors and health coaches are available from the clinics listed in the service. All personal doctors and health coaches can be found on our website. You do not need to inform Mehiläinen separately if you want to change your expert. All general practitioners and nurses of all clinics of Mehiläinen are available with the health care agreement.
The amount of appointments available varies between doctors as each doctor decides on these themselves. Check the online booking system to see the appointments available. Appointments with most personal doctors included in the health care agreement can be scheduled very quickly, even on the same day or by the following day.
A primary clinic located closest to your home, for example, is defined in the health care agreement. You can select your personal doctor and health coach from this clinic. You can also contact any Mehiläinen clinic anywhere in Finland in acute cases of illness, for example. The Digital Clinic doctors and nurses are available in the OmaMehiläinen service 24/7 wherever you have access to the internet.
We recommend starting the services with an introduction by a health coach and a health examination, but you can also see a general practitioner first and then meet with a health coach.
The tests and examinations required to monitor your condition or treat a disease are always determined by a doctor or a nurse. The tests and examinations are included in the monthly fee of the health care agreement if they are considered necessary and a doctor or a nurse issues a referral for them. Therefore, we cannot promise in advance that a certain test or examination is included in the monthly fee with full certainty. However, it is likely that, if an expert that has treated you previously has considered a regular examination or test to be necessary, the Mehiläinen expert will come to the same conclusion.
The monthly fees are invoiced accordingly: the first three months are invoiced in advance after the agreement is signed and the subsequent months are invoiced afterwards on a monthly basis. The accumulated outpatient fees of appointments with general practitioners are invoiced afterwards on a monthly basis. The first invoice will be sent to you at the beginning of the month after the start of the agreement, including the monthly fees for two full months and the days of the first month during which the agreement has been valid. This invoice also includes the outpatient fees accumulated from appointments with general practitioners. The monthly fee and outpatient fees will be invoiced afterwards on a monthly basis from the second invoice onwards.
Any changes to outpatient fees will not be reported separately as the currently valid Mehiläinen price list is always applied. If we make changes to the monthly fees of the health care agreement, we will notify you at least one month in advance and the new prices will be valid from the beginning of the next invoicing period at the earliest. If you do not agree to the increase of the monthly fee, you have the right to terminate the agreement according to the termination terms and conditions.
If you have a Finnish personal identity code, you can make a Health Care Agreement. As the health care agreement includes fixed fees for health care services, they are not included in the Kela reimbursement scheme. Consequently, any Kela reimbursements lost due to living abroad do not affect the services accessed with the health care agreement. If you access any services not included in the health care agreement that may involve a Kela reimbursement, such as the services of specialists, you will not be entitled to the reimbursement and you will have to pay the service fee in its entirety.
