Recommendation Index (NPS)
The Net Promoter Score (NPS) measures customers’ willingness to recommend Mehiläinen or a physician/specialist based on the service received, on a scale of 0–10 (0–6: detractors, 7–8: passives, 9–10: promoters). The NPS figures shown in this indicator are based on responses from private customers who have used Mehiläinen’s services.
The NPS survey is conducted via a text message sent to the customer. The NPS is calculated by subtracting the percentage of detractors from the percentage of promoters. The result is a score on a scale from -100 (all customers are detractors) to 100 (all customers are promoters). Generally, a score above 50 is considered excellent.

Feeling of coping after the appointment (PEI)
The PEI (patient enablement instrument) metric, based on scientific research, investigates the customer's own experience of how the appointment with a physician and other specialists affects their ability to cope with a symptom or illness. In the survey, the customer assesses whether they feel they are coping much better, better, as before, or worse with the symptom or illness. The PEI figures shown in this metric are based on responses from private individuals who have used Mehiläinen's services.

Effectiveness of root canal treatment
The effectiveness of root canal treatment is monitored by a temporal follow-up between the tooth's root filling code and the possible extraction code of the tooth in question. Successful root canal treatment means the tooth remains for more than five years after root filling. The goal is to reach a level of over 80%, meaning that five years after root filling, over 80% of root-treated teeth are still in the mouth.
Durability of fillings
The conditions for the durability of dental filling materials are inherently challenging. In the table, the percentage describes how large a proportion of the performed fillings have remained in the mouth for over two years without the need for repair. A high number indicates good success and durability of the fillings, a low number means poorer success; detachment, chipping, or the need for re-repairs of the performed fillings.

Periodontal diseases are very common in the Finnish adult population. They are associated with the onset and treatability of several general diseases. Periodontal diseases are underdiagnosed and undertreated. Treatment is most successful when the disease is detected early. The metric describes how actively our dentists measure the bleeding on probing (BOP) index during check-ups, meaning the number in the table indicates the percentage of BOP measurements in relation to check-up appointments.
