I am a Clinical Neurophysiology specialist at the HUS Diagnostics Clinical Neurophysiology Unit in Meilahti. After medical school, I worked as a general practitioner until I began my specialization in Clinical Neurophysiology at the Helsinki University Central Hospital in 1998. At HUS, my work focuses specifically on diagnosing the most complex peripheral nerve, muscle, and neuromuscular junction disorders investigated with EMG/nerve conduction studies (ENMG).
In private medical centers, I have mainly performed ENMG studies since 2000. I have accumulated extensive experience, yet every week we still encounter new types of challenges — something that keeps us alert and attentive with every patient. At the Mehiläinen Töölö unit, I perform ENMG studies only for adult patients. I am used to examining patients with pain and aim to minimize discomfort during the procedure through good communication and careful technique.
Patients attend ENMG examinations with a physician’s referral. Ideally, the referral question is precise and well-defined. Often, however, the study must be expanded to determine the cause of symptoms and rule out different conditions. ENMG examinations are especially comprehensive when neurological diseases are suspected.
My ENMG appointment slots appear and become bookable only when searching for laboratory tests using the ENMG code (“ENMG”). In Töölö, other physicians also receive patients under the same code, so only the times listed below are for me specifically.
My ENMG appointments in Töölö last 30 minutes. Appointment times on Mondays and Wednesdays are at 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, and 18:00.
On Fridays, in 2-week cycles:
10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30
or
11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00.
