Founded in 1909, Mehiläinen is a rapidly growing healthcare company that strongly invests in the possibilities of digitalisation and innovation. We are on a journey towards an ambitious goal: to be the leading healthcare company in Europe by 2030. Our growth story has already taken us to seven countries, driven by modern technology and the experts who make us a frontrunner in the industry.

We are looking for a Development Manager, Treasury to join our Treasury and Integrations team, based in Helsinki, Kamppi.

Our Treasury and Integrations team is responsible for the entire group's financing, cash management, payment operations, M&A integrations, and financial risk management. This work takes place in an international and continuously growing environment, as Mehiläinen completes several acquisitions every year, including abroad, and operates across multiple countries. Our core operations already keep the team fully occupied, which is why we are now looking for a Development Manager, Treasury to join us, with a primary focus on developing our operations.

In this role you will lead and coordinate the development of Treasury's processes, systems, data capabilities and ways of working. You work closely with the Director of Treasury and M&A Integrations and the wider Treasury team, with a particular focus on supporting a financing-intensive treasury function.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to developing and streamlining treasury processes internationally — identifying manual steps and standardizing and streamlining processes.

  • Create and coordinate the Treasury development roadmap, together with the Director of Treasury and M&A Integrations, from identification of improvement opportunities through implementation and follow-up.

  • Implement automation solutions internationally and across the entire group — leveraging robotics and AI, for example in payments, reconciliations, and bank statement processing.

  • Develop forecasting models — automating cash and working capital forecasts, improving forecast accuracy, and contributing to related monthly reporting.

  • Take joint responsibility, together with the Treasury team, for the development of treasury systems (current systems being Treasury Systems, Nomentia Cash Management and Anaplan for forecasting) and for leveraging their features and integrations.

  • Act as AI Product Owner for the treasury area — defining, prioritizing, and owning key AI development initiatives.

  • Ensure data quality and consistency, as reliable data from source systems is a prerequisite for automation and forecasting.

  • Ensure prioritization of the development portfolio based on impact and feasibility.

  • Measure and demonstrate the benefits of development initiatives, such as time savings, automation levels, forecast accuracy, and reduced error and fraud risk.

  • Ensure that controls and risk management are maintained or strengthened as automation progresses.

  • Support the Treasury organization in the implementation and adoption of new tools and improved processes.

  • Contribute to treasury system and process roll-outs in acquired companies — and take the project lead on individual roll-outs, depending on the initiative.

You will work closely with our Controllers and payments teams on developing our processes and tools, as well as with the wider organization, such as IT and other finance functions. When needed, you will also act as a contact person for both domestic and international banks. The emphasis of your tasks may vary depending on the progress of development initiatives and the profile of the person recruited.

Scope of impact

  • Geographic reach: Mehiläinen operates in seven countries and completes several acquisitions every year, including abroad — your development work spans treasury processes and systems internationally, not just in Finland.

  • Organizational reach: you work side by side with the Director of Treasury and M&A Integrations in a compact Helsinki-based team, while your solutions reach treasury teams in every country we operate in.

  • Stakeholder network: you will collaborate closely with Controllers, the payments team, IT, and other finance functions, and act as a point of contact for both domestic and international banks.

  • Depth of influence: as AI Product Owner for treasury, you will define and drive the group-wide direction for automation and AI initiatives in treasury — shaping how the function works, not just executing individual projects.

Requirements

In this Development Management role you combine strong project, process and stakeholder-management capabilities with sufficient understanding of finance and treasury to translate business needs into practical solutions.

  • A few years of work experience in finance or treasury, and a relevant higher education degree (e.g., M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration or Industrial Engineering and Management).

  • A demonstrated track record of independently leading development projects or initiatives — this role is by nature more of a developer role than a traditional controller role.

  • Experience with process automation, robotics (RPA), or applying AI solutions in a finance or treasury context — this is a key competence area for the role.

  • Familiarity with financial systems and experience developing them; knowledge of Power BI and experience in an international or multicultural environment are considered an advantage.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, initiative, and flexibility, along with a strong drive to grow.

  • Attention to detail with numbers and excellent Excel skills.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting is an advantage, as you will also participate in monthly reporting.

  • Fluent English, as you will work daily with international stakeholders; skills in Finnish, Swedish and/or German are considered an advantage.

  • The ability to work in a constantly changing environment across multiple development initiatives at the same time — you don't wait for ready-made assignments but identify development opportunities yourself and drive them forward.

Personal success factors

  • A growth mindset — you enjoy challenges and embrace opportunities to develop both professionally and personally.

  • A hands-on, can-do attitude — you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and take ownership.

  • Comfort with ambiguity – you make pragmatic decisions even under pressure.

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for quality and outcomes.

  • A collaborative spirit that brings out the best in the people around you.
