Our goal is to help you return to a functional and less painful life.
With the right treatment and suitable exercises, the aim is to achieve a back that is as strong, mobile, and stress-resistant as possible. A physiotherapy appointment for prolonged back pain is suitable for all ages, including the assessment of stress-related back pain in children and adolescents.
Pain lasting more than 12 weeks is classified as prolonged and should be treated holistically to better prevent the recurrence of back pain.
If back pain is severe and accompanied by fever, weakening of large muscle groups in the lower limbs, bladder and bowel dysfunction, or numbness in the groin area, these are serious symptoms. In such cases, urgent emergency care is needed.
A physiotherapy appointment for prolonged back pain is a clear start to the treatment path. Our back physiotherapist will map your symptoms, investigate the background factors of the pain, and plan an effective treatment with you. The goal is to understand what is preventing recovery, support daily functional capacity, and prevent the recurrence of pain. If necessary, the physiotherapist will refer you for further examinations to other back specialists, such as a physiatrist or orthopaedist.
The physiotherapist will examine your posture, mobility, and muscle balance. If necessary, tests of nervous system function will also be performed.
When back pain becomes prolonged, we focus on removing obstacles to recovery and preventing recurrence. You will receive clear self-care instructions tailored to your situation from the physiotherapist, instructions for exercises to be performed at home, guidance on managing exertion, and tips for pain management.
Follow-up will always be agreed upon individually with you. If your symptoms change or new warning signs appear, your treatment plan will be updated without delay.
