I graduated as a speech therapist at the end of 2021 from the University of Oulu. I work in Sievi, Kaustinen and Veteli. In addition to speech therapy sessions conducted in the client’s everyday environment, my work also includes providing remote rehabilitation services across Finland. As a Kela speech therapist, I operate in the Oulu, Kokkola and Jyväskylä regions.
My clientele mainly consists of children and young people, but I am also happy to work with adults. In the rehabilitation of children and young people, I have gained experience particularly in phonological and speech motor rehabilitation, as well as in addressing linguistic challenges. Additionally, I have experience in practicing and strengthening the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods. In adult speech therapy rehabilitation, I have specialized in addressing swallowing challenges and voice disorders.
In speech therapy, I consider collaboration with the client’s immediate environment to be essential, taking into account the resources of the client’s community. I also believe that speech therapy should be meaningful, and important to me that everyone is recognized as their unique self, with their individual strengths and interests.
