I am a specialist in cardiology. I provide comprehensive care for cardiac symptoms and heart diseases in patients over 16 years of age, and I also offer general medical consultations. I provide consultations in Finnish and fluent English.
The most common reasons for booking an appointment with me include:
- chest sensations or discomfort - palpitations or suspected arrhythmia - heart murmurs - shortness of breath during exertion or decreased exercise capacity - family history of heart disease or concern about one’s own heart health - abnormal ECG findings or irregular rhythm detected by a smartwatch - management of cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure and cholesterol - follow-up care after hospitalization for heart disease
I aim to determine the cause of symptoms as efficiently as possible. If needed, I can perform a cardiac ultrasound during the same visit without a separate booking (priced according to a separate fee schedule). Often, the necessary examinations and treatment plan can be completed during the first appointment.
When required, I arrange further investigations such as Holter monitoring, exercise stress tests, and coronary CT scans. I also provide referrals for hospital-level examinations and treatments, including coronary angiography, angioplasty, and catheter ablation for arrhythmias. Exercise stress tests are performed by me during separately scheduled appointments.
I have a special interest in exercise-related cardiac symptoms and cardiac evaluations of athletes. I work as a cardiologist at Urheilu Mehiläinen.
In addition, I work as a cardiologist at Hyvinkään sairaala, where I supervise resident physicians and regularly participate in continuing medical education. I am happy to see patients for post-hospital follow-up visits as well as for second opinions regarding cardiac symptoms or test results.
You are also welcome to book an appointment for unclear or mild symptoms. Cardiac symptoms often cause concern, and in many cases the situation can be clarified with examinations performed during the consultation.
