I have graduated as a solution-focused individual psychotherapist from the University of Eastern Finland and the Brief Therapy Institute's training program. With a background in social psychology, I had previously studied to become a cognitive brief therapist and a solution-focused coach. I qualified as an EMDR therapist from the Trauma Therapy Centre's training program in autumn 2023 and have also studied sensorimotor psychotherapy.
In therapy work, I emphasize careful listening to the client's wishes and goals, and strengthening their resources based on collaboration. I also apply cognitive and other methods. The aim is for the client to make progress even in short-term work, and if necessary, the idea of single-session therapy can also be applied.
I also conduct long-term Kela rehabilitation psychotherapy. New Kela rehabilitation psychotherapy sessions can begin during day and evening hours. An introductory visit for Kela therapy must be arranged separately. The price of the introductory visit is somewhat more affordable than other consultation fees. I do not provide Kela therapy for demanding medical rehabilitation. Available individual appointments are for brief psychotherapy. In spring 2026, I can start brief psychotherapy (self-paying clients, as well as Mehiläinen's occupational health services' brief psychotherapy and insurance clients) with several new clients.
In my doctoral dissertation and subsequent research, I have focused on the thinking of crisis management personnel, and I have work experience in therapeutic work with substance abuse rehabilitants. I have also familiarized myself with the neurospectrum, led resource groups for parents of children with special needs, and written the book "Erityislapsen vanhempana – voimavaroja hyvään elämään" (As a Parent of a Special Child – Resources for a Good Life) (Kirjapaja, 2020). Currently, I am writing a book on the well-being of informal caregivers. Based on my long work experience, I am familiar with the challenges of supervisory and expert work and ways to navigate workplace complexities.
