My area of expertise is rehabilitation after plastic surgery (e.g., abdominoplasty, diastasis recti surgery). I work at HUS Plastic Surgery.
I specialize in the rehabilitation of facial palsy (e.g., Bell’s palsy, Ramsay Hunt syndrome, acoustic neuroma, facial nerve reconstruction). I also treat patients with central facial palsy (e.g., stroke). Facial therapy is beneficial even if years have passed since the onset of paralysis. I have extensive international professional networks and am a member of Facial Therapy Specialists International.
Facial therapy focuses on restoring facial muscle function, symmetry, and expressions. The therapy includes:
• Guidance to increase knowledge and understanding of facial nerve function and recovery
• Soft tissue mobilization (massage and stretching)
• Facial relaxation and meditation strategies
• Exercises to help learn controlled facial movements (Facial Neuromuscular Retraining/MIME therapy) and reduce involuntary movements, synkinesis
• Home exercises
I am specialized in pelvic floor physiotherapy, particularly in post-surgical rehabilitation following genital procedures and gender-affirming surgeries. I also have experience in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction in cancer patients.
My strength lies in providing a genuine, unhurried, and present therapeutic approach. The therapy is tailored to each patient’s individual needs and goals. Based on a thorough assessment, the treatment plan includes therapeutic exercises, soft tissue techniques (such as scar treatment), taping, and guidance on home exercises.
Welcome to the reception!
