I am a speech and language therapist (University of Oulu, 2016) and a singer (Pop & Jazz Conservatory, 2022). I graduated as a VoiceWell practitioner in March 2026.
At the beginning of my career, I worked in public healthcare, where I gained a broad understanding of challenges related to children’s interaction, speech, and language development. In 2018, I began working as a self-employed practitioner in the private sector. I currently work mainly with children who have language and speech motor challenges, as well as with adults with voice disorders, primarily in the Herttoniemi and East Helsinki areas.
In pediatric rehabilitation, my clients are referred primarily through KELA or HUS, and therapy is carried out in the child’s immediate environment, such as at daycare, school, or at home. Occasionally I also meet self-paying customers in our office in Herttoniemi. Multilingualism as part of language development interests me, as I use three different languages in my own daily life (Finnish, English, Portuguese). The rehabilitation of unclear speech is also close to my heart, and I actively pursue further training to stay up to date with the latest therapeutic approaches. VoiceWell training has given me a completely new perspective on speech motor rehabilitation and has deepened my understanding of how muscular imbalance affects speech and voice. I consider collaboration with a client’s family and immediate environment to be essential for successful rehabilitation, and I try to find therapeutic approaches that fit with each family’s individual strengths. If you are looking for a speech therapist for your child, you can inquire about available appointments by phone or email (see contact details below).
In the rehabilitation of adult voice disorders, I have particular experience with functional voice disorders. Other common reasons for seeking voice therapy include vocal fold nodules or polyps, atrophy, and lingering symptoms following prolonged respiratory infections. Voice symptoms are most often the result of multiple contributing factors, which is why I draw on methods and experience from the perspectives of a speech and language therapist, a singer, and a VoiceWell practitioner. I have worked with, among others, singers, actors, teachers, and sales professionals. You can seek voice therapy either as a self-paying client or with a payment commitment from HUS. I see voice therapy clients at our office in Herttoniemi, located at Hitsaajankatu 24. Remote sessions are also available.
I use VoiceWell techniques either as part of speech and language therapy or as a separate, standalone treatment. VoiceWell treatment can help ease voice production, balance breathing, and relieve pain related to jaw tension. The treatment is tailored to individual needs and can be focused on either a small, specific area or a broader region. Treated areas include the face, jaw, floor of the mouth, larynx, neck and shoulder region, chest, diaphragm, and back. VoiceWell therapy combines manual massage techniques with mobilizing movements and stretches. VoiceWell treatment is suitable for everyone, but it is particularly beneficial for voice professionals, and individuals suffering from jaw muscle tension. I provide VoiceWell treatments at our office in Herttoniemi, located at Hitsaajankatu 24. You can find free appointments in Nordhealth.fi, or by contacting me by email or phone.
