I work as an occupational physiotherapist in occupational health care, where, in addition to assessing musculoskeletal conditions, my key areas of expertise include identifying physical work-related risk factors and finding ways to address them. I aim to work as closely as possible with entire work communities in addition to supporting individuals, with the goal of bringing innovative approaches into practice to prevent recurring and avoidable musculoskeletal problems. Another key objective in every workplace I work with is to contribute positively to the development of a healthy workplace culture.
As a client of occupational health care, you can book guidance and counselling appointments with me directly, without a referral from another healthcare professional. During an appointment, I look beyond the condition or problem itself and assess its relationship with the work environment, work-related movements, and repetitive physical demands associated with specific tasks. When necessary, work-related physical demands can also be assessed in the employee’s natural working environment at the workplace.
Workplace wellbeing is also an important part of my professional expertise. I am equipped to provide training for different employee groups on topics such as safe lifting and handling techniques, managing physical workload, recovery, and musculoskeletal health.
Outside of work, I am an active athlete and enjoy a wide range of physical activities. This gives me a strong foundation for identifying and assessing different ways in which the body is loaded, as well as details related to movement, body mechanics, and motor control. Alongside my work as an occupational physiotherapist, I also see private clients on a part-time basis, allowing for a more focused approach to areas such as post-operative rehabilitation and lower-limb conditions.
Below is a brief overview of the sports and activities in which I have the most experience and where I can particularly well help private clients with sport-related physical demands:
- Gym and strength training
- Bodyweight training
- Combat sports
- Other body-control-intensive activities (e.g. parkour)
- Mountain biking
- Climbing
- Running
