THE USE OF COOKIES

Mehiläinen’s website uses cookies. Cookies are pieces of data describing the use of a network service that are saved on the user’s computer. The use of cookies helps Mehiläinen to improve its website and to ensure that the site meets the users’ requirements. Using cookies, the service can remember content accessed by the user and offer relevant additional information.

Cookies enable the saving of information – such as the user’s IP address, the time of visit, the pages viewed, the browser used (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox), and the URL and server from which the user accessed the site – in analytic records.

The information about pages visited, received through cookies, can be used to target advertising. On the basis of the information, the user can be shown adverts that are topical or important to visitors to the website. Not all adverts are based on the use of cookies, however. Mehiläinen’s adverts can also be seen online on the websites of commercial operators.

If you do not want cookies to be saved on your computer, you can block them. This is done through your browser settings, for example in the section entitled Privacy. Cookies can also be re-accepted at any time. Cookies must be enabled when using the online appointment service, OmaMehiläinen or YritysMehiläinen (CorporateMehiläinen).

USING ANALYTICS IN ONLINE BOOKINGS

Mehiläinen online bookings collect information on how users navigate the service using Google Analytics. This information is used to develop the service.

The information collected is the browser used (operating system, browser, display resolution), web interface, pages browsed and any related information (such as the time spent on the page), and where the user came from (such as an ad or another Web page).

All information is stored completely anonymously, and it cannot be connected to a person or an IP address. In other words, no information is gathered in the analytics that could be used to identify or recognise the user. In situations where the site recognises the user, no personal data is gathered to Google Analytics. The information is not used for advertising or other similar purposes, nor is it handed over to other parties.
